Why living in Clyde North is a Smart Move

When looking for a new home it’s important to keep the future in mind. Ideally, you want to live in a place that will cater to your needs in the long term. As your family grows, you’ll usually require access to a range of schools and education facilities at different levels. So let’s explore just a few of the education opportunities within easy reach of Smiths Park estate in Clyde North.

Early Learning

To ensure your children get a head start in life, there are already a dozen highly-rated kindergartens and pre-schools within 10 minutes drive of Smiths Park. Learn Smart Early Learning Centre in Berwick is among the closest to the estate at only 4 minutes away. This family-run centre offers five indoor rooms and three outdoor play spaces, filled with both natural and designed environments to explore.

Primary

There are almost 20 primary schools located less than 15 minutes away from Smiths Park. This includes the highly rated Hillcrest Christian College which scores 93 out of 100 for academic performance according to the Better Education index. Plus, a future new government primary school and the independent Clyde Grammar school are both expected to open for enrollments in 2022 – they’re right next door to Smiths Park!

High School

Hillcrest Christian College also offers secondary education, but it’s only one choice out of the approximately 15 independent and government schools in the area dedicated to teaching older kids. In the near future the $6.78 million Clyde Secondary College will cater to an extra 1,300 students. Construction of the college is currently underway, promising a STEM building, a performing arts and phys ed building, bike shelter, multipurpose hard-court, and landscaped outdoor play and learning spaces. Stage 1 of this school is due to open next year.

Further Learning

Academically-minded residents can head to Federation Uni nearby. This university offers its own café, accommodation, library and sporting grounds for basketball, beach volleyball, and soccer. Deakin Uni also has a Learning Centre to support its students located not too far away in Dandenong. For those interested in becoming trade qualified, you have a choice of Chisholm TAFE campuses in either Berwick or Dandenong. And there’s also Community College Gippsland which offers short and long courses in everything from equine studies to beauty school.
